We collect personal data only when you choose to contact us via the enquiry form on this website. The data collected is:

- Your message
- Any other information you choose to include in your message
We do not collect any other personal data. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools that identify individual visitors.
3. Why We Collect It & Legal Basis
We collect your contact details solely to respond to your enquiry. This may include:
- Responding to questions about photography, prints, workshops or licensing
- Providing information about commissioned work or talks
- Following up on workshop or event bookings
The legal basis for processing this data under UK GDPR is Article 6(1)(b), performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and where that does not apply, Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interests (namely, responding to a communication you initiated).
4. How Your Data Is Processed
When you submit the contact form, your message is delivered directly to Brian's email inbox. Your data is not stored in any database, CRM, or third-party platform. It exists only in email correspondence between you and Brian.
Email is hosted by Catalyst2 (a UK-based web and email hosting provider). Your message travels securely over encrypted connections (TLS) between your browser and the server.
5. How Long We Keep It
Email correspondence is retained for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was sent, typically until the matter is concluded. Emails relating to a booking or commission may be kept for up to 6 years for accounting and contractual record-keeping purposes, in line with UK legal requirements.
You may request deletion of your correspondence at any time (see Section 7).
6. Who We Share It With
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
Your data may only be disclosed in the following limited circumstances:
- Where required by law or a court order
- To our email hosting provider (Catalyst2) as part of normal email delivery, they act as a data processor under a contract that protects your data
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification, you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure, you can ask us to delete your data where there is no overriding legal reason to retain it
