This year Brian came runner up in the Bird Behaviour category of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the year.
Selected from over 32,000 entries this is the first time Brian has made it from the final stages, and into the book.
The shot of a Black Vulture eating a Caiman through its eye socket (taken in Brazil in September 2007) probably won’t make it on a Christmas card but is one of Brian’s favourite shots from his time in the Pantanal. The prize-giving presentation evening at the Natural History Museum was a great event and celebrated the work of some of the world’s greatest wildlife photographers - Eating dinner under a dinosaur is something everyone should try!
You can see Brian's award-winning shot in Wildlife Photographer of the Year: Portfolio 18, available to buy now. Also check out now via the Natural History Museum website, click here
