Highly commended in Asferico Wildlife Photography competition

The results have just been released for the Asferico Wildlife photography 2017 competition and I managed to get my first underwater shot in a photography competition. During my 2016 New Zealand trip I was really lucky to spend an afternoon with a a pod of 600 dolphins in freezing water. The visibility was pretty good and I got a few descent shots. Dolphin encounter in Kaikoura http://www.dolphinencounter.co.nz/ are a great company to see Dusky Dolphins with (in and out of the water).

The image started as a slightly wider colour image.

Cropped down and converted to black and white.

I’ve been lucky to be in this competition before and have been entering for a few years now, as with lots of wildlife photography contests it gets lots of entries now and gets some fantastic shots.

Have a look at the 2017 Competition Gallery to see all the winners.

It’s worth entering if you’ve got a few good shots.
